Where is everyone doing their hosting at these days? I am just trying to gauge what everyone else is doing? Do you host your own forums on physical hardware in your home or do you pay for some sort of provided hosting?
Kind of talking with our sites "board of directors" and tossing around the idea of possibly moving from host gator to somewhere else a little more cost effective but i am not sure what that might look like. Our little community is sort of data heavy in the attachments as we are a DIY audio production group and have heaps of audio data. So that sort of thing would need to be considered.
The only thing keeping me at host gator is the fact that they don't seem to care we have GROSSLY exceeded our packages data allocation / limit and we have very rarely gone offline with them. I can probably count on one hand how many times we've gone black out since 2017 with them babysitting the hardware for us.
The only things making me look else where is the cost, and their customer service. I've had ot deal with them 3 times since 2017 and it was ...taxing... to say the least.
